He was a member of the Deadwood Methodist Church, a member of the George B. Dealy Masonic Lodge 312 in co*ckrell Hill and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a loving father, grandfather, great friend and an avid sportsman.

Anne Lee Long Hakala was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Crowell. She was a graduate of TCU and a music teacher in Crowell. She also played the organ in her church. She married John R.

Hakala on March 16, 1940, and after spending time in Lake Charles, La. and Houston, they settled in Fort Worth in the 1950s. She was a longtime member of Connell Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Ridglea Country Club and a former member of the Woman's Club and the Petroleum Club. Anne Lee was a true Southern lady with a sense of gracious hospitality and charm.

She was an artist, and enjoyed the arts and gardening. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Hakala, on Feb. 19, 1999; a brother, John Long; a sister, Willie Long-Williams; and a nephew, Jim Williams. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
